High School Academics
The goal of high school education in Lenoir County is to graduate students who are prepared to begin a career in the workforce or with a plan to complete their preparation for a career in an institution of higher education or the military. LCPS provides many dynamic opportunities for students to allow them to meet this goal.
Upon graduation, students will be entering a highly competitive global workforce. LCPS students are able to explore many options for academic challenges and career exploration. High school students are encouraged to personalize their education, with the guidance of high school staff, to best meet their educational needs and future goals.
Attendance
Students must meet local attendance policy (#4400). High school students who accumulate more than the allowed 10 absences per semester in any class will not receive credit for the course unless approved through a school waiver process. Having an excused absence allows the student to make up missed work.
